Prayer for a new mom

I tried to find something appropriate online, but I couldn’t.  I don’t have the energy to write an encouraging poem, so here’s what I do have:

If you know a new mom or even an experienced mom who has recently had another child, would you think of that person and say a prayer for her today?  And, just to bless her socks off extra much, let her know that you’re doing so?

If she’s like me, she’s experiencing major lack of sleep, which messes with her emotions, which means she’s not able to respond kindly to her children or husband, which makes family life a real drag.

  1. How about this one…(thank you, Google :)). Hope tomorrow is better for you!

“God of power and might, grant Heidi enough energy to balance family, spouse, her new baby and other obligations as she heals from her pregnancy. Grant her sleep, support, patience, and love, that she may recover fully. Comfort her in her mood swings, strengthen her tired body, and rejoice with her in the new life she has just delivered. In Your loving and precious name, Amen.”

  2. Hi Friend!

Thinking of and praying for you today! I pray that you’ll soon be able to get some good rest and that God will shower you with extra love, patience and grace today for you and your family!

  3. “He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.” Isaiah 40:11 NIV.

Sometimes, I found myself wondering if the gently leading thing was true because the path certainly felt/feels bumpy.

I’ll say a prayer for you because it IS a hard time, these newborn days. Hang in there.
